Woman Owned Business Advantages Exploration for Start-Ups

This is a workshop designed to help Women considering or planning a start-up business explore ways to use their ownership to advantage.  The workshop is also beneficial for WBEs (Woman Business Enterprise) who have been in business for one year or less.  The workshop will include the following:
§Understanding what Supplier Diversity is and how it could relate to your business
§Identifying and qualifying prospects; determining if your being a WBE is important to them
§Exploring certifications that could be beneficial to your success
§Marketing and sales strategies that leverage the fact that you are a WBE
§Advice on incorporating WBE status into your Business and Marketing Plans

Existing businesses will benefit more from the “Should My Business Be Certified?” and/or “Capitalizing On Being Woman Owned.”

Should My Business Be Certified?

This is a workshop designed to help existing businesses determine if being certified as a Woman Owned, Minority Owned, Disadvantaged Small Business or other designation would be beneficial.  The workshop includes the following:
§Resources on the certifications available to assist businesses
§Explanations about the intent and applicability of the available certifications
§Reasons to be certified
§Opportunity for participants to determine if their specific business would benefit from being certified

This workshop is most beneficial to existing businesses.  It is recommended that persons considering or planning a start-up business enroll in the “Woman Owned Business Advantages Exploration for Start-Ups.”

Capitalizing on Being A Woman Owned Business

This is a workshop designed to help existing Woman Owned Businesses capitalize on that status in a time when Supplier Diversity is becoming the customary way of doing business.  The workshop includes the following:
§Identifying and qualifying prospects (government, education and commercial) that benefit from using           WBEs (Woman Business Enterprise)
§Marketing and sales strategies that leverage the fact that you are a WBE
§Examples of “rules” for doing business with government agencies and commercial enterprises
§How to use Certifications effectively – Note: Choosing and applying for Certification are not covered in              this Workshop but are covered in the “Should My Business Be Certified?” workshop
§Critical “How To” information

This workshop is designed for existing businesses that are certified or have completed the “Should My Business Be Certified?” workshop.  Very little time is spent on Certification in this workshop.   Persons considering or planning a start-up business enroll in the “Woman Owned Business Advantages Exploration for Start-Ups.”
